So now that I have a small break from uni, I’ve been going through my old photos and I realised that I’ve actually got quite a backlog of photos which I had planned to share with you all at some point, but never got around to doing. I’ve even picked up a couple of cameras (both toycam and vintage) over the last few months, so hopefully I’ll find time to post up some reviews.
As you can see, I took this using the macro on the Harinezumi 2++. I’m actually really amazed at the power of the macro on the Zumi 2++. I’m also equally amazed that this bug decided to let me get close enough to take the picture. It even gave a bit of a wave of its antennae for me!
Today I bring bad news to the Harinezumi fans out there (if you’re reading my blog, you probably are one). Within the last few weeks, Superheadz issued a statement saying that they are fully discontinuing the production of their entire Harinezumi range (including the 2++ and 2+++). Continue reading →
First thing’s first: I don’t know how many regular readers I have, but I wholeheartedly apologise for the severe lack of posts. It’s been about four months, but so much has happened. So, in summary: Merry Christmas and Happy new year for ages ago. I don’t know how many of you know about the huge Queensland floods in January, but we had to deal with that too – thankfully, my house was safe.
The main thing keeping me from my blog right now though is that I started med school at the start of this year. And boy oh boy, it’s full on! They really just hit you with everything from the start. I haven’t done much science in recent years, so I’m really playing a huge catch-up game right now.
Enough about my life though. I took this photo on the way to one of my daily 8am lectures (not fun), using ISO100 B&W mode. There’s really not much to the photo, but I like it nonetheless. It could be the lens flare – everyone loves some good lens flare. Obviously, this building was under construction, and the reason I chose to post this photo right now is that this is how I feel at the moment. My course is making me feel like my brain is under construction.
I’ll try my best to post some more photos in the future (I’ve accumulated quite a few), but I guess I can’t guarantee that I’ll find time these days. Sorry in advance if that happens.
PS: You can’t see it in this photo, but the construction company is called Hooker Cockram. Make of that what you will, but my girlfriend and I think it’s hilarious that the company name got approved.
Heh, there really is nothing cuter than a Golden Retriever (Phillip!!) struggling to hold open his heavy eyelids. He’s so lazy that he just doesn’t react, even if you get right in his face with a camera… Hit the jump for a bonus Phillip photo! Continue reading →
This was taken on a recent trip to the Fortitude Valley, near where I live. I was using the Highlighter mod I mentioned in an earlier post, so that I could get some softer colours. I think that the mod sometimes works in conjunction with the natural vividness of the Harinezumi 2++ and you get photos like this one: soft and dreamy, but with some vivid reds.
